"I look like the you I turned in to, being your imprint. You are exactly what is lost since only you would fit the mould which I have become." - Rachael Whiteread
Each person possesses and utilises objects which hold a function and a purpose within their everyday routine. The over-looked and un-noticed spaces in and around them are just as much a part of our lives; they are the spaces we inhabit.
The fear I possess is closely related to the unknown. The spaces around me, between my feet and the ground I stand on, can be representative of my isolation and potential loneliness. Through filling these voids by creating a plaster form, the loneliness I fear becomes an object and an entity I can sense and touch. Thus by producing these casts, the unknown becomes a known shape and the trepidation of surrounding issues fade.
