Reflections of Reflections,
Not
Defined by space or preference –
As air will thicken, when air is
Hot -
And blindness, what a nuisance!

An Interior Garden has been created – a reflection on the altering perceptions of an individual, catalysed by growth and experience. The manner in which we view the world changes state in relation to the experiences we have been through – to watch a creature die and find something other than death, for example. As products of nature – that which man is separated from – and objects of ‘beauty’, flowers are contained within an idyllic sphere, far removed from the Fall of Man.

As mankind has imposed itself upon meanings for ‘things’ – now too my flowers have changed state and are representative of memories specific to the Amygdale. Effectively scapegoats, the flowers of the interior garden illustrate fluidity between innocence and experience and the manner in which mind can morph matter – whilst the flowers themselves ‘appear’ ‘normal’.

An appendix has been created to explore the nature of word association in correlation with image – and boundaries of understanding between one and another are both built and broken, as are those from person to person, artist to audience – and back again – so coming about the ‘clearing and concealing of what is.’
